Parking and Traffic Regulations

The ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº Police Department, under Massachusetts General Laws, enforce parking regulations. In emergencies or special situations, state or local police may assist in traffic control on campus. Parking at ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº is a privilege extended to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. All drivers on campus must follow ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº's parking and traffic regulations to maintain safety and order.

  • Parking is first-come, first-served.

  • ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº is not responsible for any vehicle damage or theft.

  • All drivers must be familiar with campus traffic rules.

  • Violations may result in fines, towing, or loss of parking privileges.

  • Abandoned Vehicles will be towed.

  • Accidents on Campus must be reported to ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº Police before moving vehicles.

  • Event Parking must be coordinated through campus event staff and ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº Police.

Faculty and Staff:

  • Must register vehicles within 7 working days of employment.

  • Register online via MyNorthShore portal (search "Parking").

  • Park in yellow-lined spaces (first-come, first-served).

  • Decal placement: rear driver’s side window, lower left corner.

  • Decals expire only upon employment termination.

Students:

  • Must register each semester (Spring, Summer, Fall) through MyNorthShore portal.

  • Park in white-lined spaces only.

  • Decals expire every two years on September 1st or upon:

    • Vehicle sale or license plate change.

    • Withdrawal from the college.

  • Faculty/Staff: Yellow-lined spaces.

  • Students: White-lined spaces.

  • Drop-off areas: Main entrances only, for brief, attended stops.

  • Motorcycles: No decal required; use motorcycle parking or appropriate spaces.

  • Visitor Parking: Use designated visitor lots or obtain a pass from ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº Police.

Strictly enforced no-parking areas:

  • Fire lanes

  • Emergency vehicle access roads

  • Loading zones (including dumpsters)

  • Handicapped/reserved spaces (unless authorized)

  • Overnight parking (10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.) unless pre-approved

  • Areas blocking hydrants, sidewalks, driveways, or emergency exits

  • Grass, sidewalks, crosswalks, and other non-vehicle areas

Violating these areas may result in immediate towing at the vehicle owner’s expense.

  • Speed limit: 15 MPH

  • Obey all signs (STOP, DO NOT ENTER, etc.)

  • Yield to pedestrians at crosswalks

  • No driving or parking on paths, lawns, or unauthorized areas

Common fine amounts:

  • Handicapped Parking: $100

  • All other violations: $10 each
    (includes improper parking, blocking hydrants, no decal, etc.)

  • Tickets cannot be paid at ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº Police.

  • Pay online via or by mail/in-person at specified locations.

  • Appeals can be filed online via the same system.

  • No penalty while awaiting appeal decision. If denied, payment is due within 21 days.
